| koj | The Saxony state government's Heritage Department has been directing the archaeological investigations taking place in Dresden. According to the senior archaeologist in charge of the project, Harald Staeuble, "Our excavations have revealed the degree of monumental vision and sophistication used by these early farming communities to create Europe's first truly large-scale earthwork complexes." These were perhaps the last great hunters gathers, migrant in nature, city in size, probily freedom seeking tribes chasing the land opening up from last ice age. if they were farmers they would stay longer. |

| Joan | This is amazing. I am awed at the findings that are coming out regarding peoples or civilizations that we knew od didn't even know about. My bet would be these people left the settlements and moved after useing up the areas supplies. What a great find I envy the archaeologists that found them. Good luck to you and find more. | 10/24/2006 |
| Charlotte | What are the sources to these claims? I can't really believe it until some well-known, accepted, and objective archaeologist confirms the proposals. But for sure it's an exiting theory... | 9/30/2006 |
