Chris Conway good information, thanks for passing it on 10/31/2005
Rational It's all pretty good but I'm not so sure about the "1 year registration penalty". The majority of sites get registered for one year only and then get renewed on an annual basis. Even though it makes sense, it sounds like speculation... remember one thing - there is no such thing as THE PERFECT site from a SEO perspctive. Each and every site will have faults and Google (hopefully) knows that! 9/24/2005
Laurie Meade I just discovered page rank while looking for a listing of free content article sites.

This is a very informative article. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Andy Hmmm. Interesting. I wonder how much my site might improve with some tweaks. Thanks! 8/2/2005
RW you cite that the years a domain is registered will effect the ranking of a site, but then fail to show the evidence of this in your explinations. Please clarify this point or take if off your article. 7/21/2005
maverick Good one.. .thanks from India!! 7/1/2005
priceit Don't forget what a patent is all about: protecting the technology you are about to release in the future, while making sure that you don't give away too many clues about what you are about to release.

Most of the content is noise, and cannot be taken as granted.

FREDDY BEE THIS ALL SOUNDS VERY GOOD. I WILL FOLLOW THE WISDOM. 6/17/2005
Hink How much of this filing is actual SOP, and how much of it is misdirection and kitchensinking to throw competition, and as it would seem, idle speculators off the scent?

If you could tell me the answer to that question, I would say this is worth getting your undies in a bunch; otherwise, I'd advise a grain of salt.

dittoi I'm getting a lot of stick for the poor grammar and spelling mistakes in this article which is fair enough. The article was written quickly to get the info out.

I've just now made some amendments and I'll take some time out soon to fix any remaining errors.

As for it being old news. Yes it is to some but not to the majority. A great deal of people have found it very helpful and informative. Despite the crude formatting. :)

regards,
Darren Yates

Plaidshark LOL, I did not know this was a grammer site. I think the guy was giving us the info more for content, and not that he needs to turn it in to his teacher. If everyone spelled "write" on the internet, wouldn't it be a great thing!!! lets loose all the friggin' acronyms. 6/17/2005
Plaidshark Great Article, and we are definately changing the way we do things now!! 6/17/2005
Beckie How does being listed in the Open Directory fit into Google's ranking? 6/16/2005
anon Darren should learn when to put an extra letter "o" on the word "to" to make "too".
He wrote: "On the other hand to few or to small updates to your site could see your rankings slide."

OLD Sounds like a lot of guessing and non-factual information. More like opinions based on the patent that was released a while back.
