I think in my opinion year round school is not a good idea student should have a summer vacation closed 3 months in that 3 moths student may have fun like going to beach, traveling one state other state, watching TV, plating sports, and when student have 1 moth left student should be ready		 2/11/2012

Jessie I think traditional is bettter. The reason I approve of this is because of the following reasons:
* Kids get to spend more time with their friends
*You are able to visit realtives out of your country
*Summer programs will suffer
*Students tend to forget information wheter their out of school for 3 weeks or 10!

Yo mama no school for two to three months during the summer (a total of 180 hours of classroom time per year). Traditional schedules provide the same curriculum as year-round schools. However, the amount of time a child spends in the classroom each day is an extended time compared to a child in a year-round schedule. Conversely, the amount of time a child spends not going to school is an extended period of time also, whereas with a year-round schedule, students usually get three-week breaks several times during the year.

Year-round schools operate on a "track" schedule all year long with the exception of a few weeks between the ending of one school year and the beginning of the next. Track scheduling is a staggered system specifically designed to accommodate more children in a school. Usually a school has anywhere from 3-4 tracks and the start and end dates of those tracks are staggered. Regardless of when a specific track starts and stops, children go to school for nine weeks straight and then have a break of three weeks where they are not in school. When you hear a parent say their child is "tracked out," it means they are out of school on a break.

Tierra Townshed i feel as if traditional school schedules are a lot better, because when u are in and out of school in a year round school we are in the class rooms learning. Yes, we have a two month vacation, but that gives the parents time to save up on money for trips and fun events. rather than having to worry about what their children are going to do for each time that they are out for three weeks. So therefore i think that i rather attend a traditional school schedule than a year round school. Yes the parents might say that we learn more well i doubt that very seriously. Elizabeth Year-Round School would reduce summer learning loss. Children don't even think one bit about school in the summer. If Year-Round School isn't an option for concerned parents then they should seek fun summer learning programs to keep kids brains busy with activity. They should also encourage reading and limit television time. 2/20/2007

Anika woodard Year round schooling is a hassle to kids. they should at least have the summer off because of family time, vacations and extracarricular activities.Me as a student at h.h Poole Middle school got a perfect score of 600 on my SOL tests. In H.H Poole nearly 95% passed the SOL 's 6th 7th and 8th grade. My friend who attends a Fairfax county school barely passed. Please take my opinon into consideration. 10/11/2006
