Karen I agree that you should treat your twins (fraternal or identical) as unique people, because they are!

I think a more important topic would be, how to deal with the initial shock and stress that comes when you first learn that you are going to be having twins!

Shana I agree with this. I myself am a fraternal twin and agree that you should encourage each twin to discover there own identity. Yeah we have a special bong because we are twins, but we are two different people. 6/28/2007

Genetic I think its cool to have twins that are a boy and a girl. It might be hard to raise them but its worth it. I should know i had 2 sets of twins both a boy and girl. 2 boys and 2 girls. 3/8/2007

Susi I am a fretenal twin and i do think it is important that twins establish different identies because people always refer to me and my sister as "the twins" and even our own parents confuse us and it gets frustraing because if one of us likes somthing people automatilicly think the other twin does too; which isnt always true 6/29/2006
Jannine As a working mother of one already, I am faced with the decision to become a full-time mom once my twins are born next year. Your last sentence in this article has made me see things clearly now. 10/11/2005
