Bay City Guy Where on earth did you get your information? You state that she "took" the name Madonna from her mother. Yes, her mother's name was Madonna.. and so was hers! She was born in Bay City Michigan and named after her mother... Madonna Louise Fortin. This can be verified through Bay County court records... Madonna is her real name! Madonna was the 3rd child born in a family of six children... three younger siblings followed.. Christopher, Paula, and Melanie before the death of her mother in 1963 at age 30. Her father Sylvio (Tony).. then remarried in 1966 and had two more children (Jennifer and Mario) with his new wife Joan. 12/11/2008
