Well first of all this crime could have been prevented. If sex offenders would be punished more severly, as in life in prison. this little girl would not have lost her life. Our judicial system is not harsh enough on sex offenders. They will do it again. If keeping them in prison until they take their last breath will prevent them from ever looking at another child again i say lock them up for good |

It has to be something done about sex offenders and other criminals being able to get out on probation and parole like it's a their right. It's not their right to be able to receive probation or parole it is a privilage that should be exercised with extreme caution. |

The more one reads about these dreadful crimes against young people and babies the more a person can begin to feel guilty that we cannot protect them. Maybe something is lacking in the basic education of many of these people. I am of the generation when we were taught, and taught again and again, the difference between right and wrong and how to behave in society. Our "sex" education was literally biology. For 100's of years people didnt need to know about sex until they were adults and frequently just got around to doing it on their own without anyone giving them lessons on different sexualities. And sure as heck there were no dirty magazines in the shops or sex shops or stuff on the internet - and so on.
There is a way to help stop these perversions and it is to regulate the internet and to stop the X rated magazines/films/tv soaps and all the rest of it. But who is going to give us the chance to clean it all up? Which officials are prepared to go broke to save the world?
Like the Christians being thrown to the Lions, the people wanted more and more until Rome burnt. |

Oh Couey will get his. What is really bad about all of this is that even if he gets the death penalty, he will be on Death Row. He is protected on Death Row. Isn't it a shame that perverts like him are not put in General Population? Lets say for a year or 2. That way, you let the convicts take care of scum like him and it saves the tax payers millions of dollars. Sorry if I sound bitter but I was the victim of a pedophile and no amount of therapy will ever help you forget or get over what was done to you. |

One last thought, I n Vermont where I live, we have no rights to protect our children. As seen by Judge cashman's new ruling. A child molester who stayed with the family, who by the way knew what was going on. Let the piece of dung rape repeatedly only got 3 to 10 years. Somthing like that. We can't go on line to find where the animals live because the Vermont government cares more for the rapers than the children. Prison is for punishment not rehab. Cashman and all the other liberal scat shold be taught what it feels like to have your life ruined by these animals. I was on the yahoo chat room. All you read there is the smut allowed by yahoo. Yeah I know it's a free country with freedom of speech. But what Yahoo allows is showing the degeneration of American behavior. No wonder the rest of the world raise their eye brows in confusion. |

It is a crying shame that we do not have similar laws over here in the UK.
We too have had our fair share of child murders such as the Sarah Payne killing or the senseless slaying of two childhood freinds by Ian Huntley in the Soham murders.
Those who commit such acts are nothing more than depraved Scum and if convicted by due process then a mandatory death penalty should be imposed.
Perhaps the only good paedophile is a dead one for at least they will never ever harm a child ever again and rob them of their innocence by their actions.
Whith the increasing development of DNA technology then the odds of convicting the wrong person is considerably lessened though one could never entirely exclude it.
So for that reason the safeguards must be as stringent as humanly possible to minimise this possibility.
Should their be any reasonable doubt then life without parole must be considered. |
