My name is Neeraj, I am currently working as a team lead in one of the leading BPO's in pune but now want to shift and persue career in software testing. Becuase of thsi I am now using internet intensively to find and gather as much materail as possible regarding testing.

I think u r wrong and u should read "Edward Kit" to clear ur concepts....Things written by nilesh is perfect..i.e functional testing, Code testing, Integration Testing, User acceptance all wud come under validation only...

The article is good well organized and dealt at high level about Verification and Validation. BUT somewhere the basic definition of Verification and Validation has been mis represented ... I felt. If you go by the definition ..right product.. and ..product right.. terminologies... when we check if the right product is built then we are validating . Implying anything on the user end checks if the right product has been built. hence User testing or Acceptance testing ALONE should be Validation and all the remaining reviews and testing types should be Verification. Going by this analysis ,which I am pretty sure is right, the article addressed the basics wrongly. It needs to be reworked upon....
