Each person has his or her own views on peace and I have placed mine with the idea that you find you kind of peace within yourself. His observation that we are upset when our ego takes a thrashing is very true.So how do you deal with this situation.You see the ego takes a battering t all the time.What is your ego ? It is the image you have of your self.When what someone says or does undermines this image you have of yourself you lose your cool because your inner security is threatened. I just watch this feeling calmly when a thought distracts me I ask "to whom did this thought arise", this helps me quieten my mind and focus steadily on the feeling.Stay with the feeling. This is the way to be in the now and also to put your trust in God or the self within you. | 10/10/2005 |
