I think Chris Rock did a terrible job of hosting the oscars. His remarks about Nicole Kidman, Jude Law & Tobey Maguire were completely inappropriate. I was really proud of Sean Penn letting him know that, that was the high point of the evening. This was the worst Oscars I have ever watched and I never miss them. I say bring Billy Crystal, Steve Martin or evern Whoopi back. No more Chris Rock for Oscars but I love his stand up!!! |

Chris Rock brought an energy and vitality to the Oscars that I haven't seen in years. Since all corners of America were watching, I don't think that it was out of line to speak about whatever that is going on in America, and that includes comments about Bush or anything else. Get over it people-lighten up! Is there such an oppressive weight in the air in this country that we can't poke fun and laugh anymore? Chris was hired for his edgy, quick wit and I loved every minute of it-whether I agreed with everything that he said or not. Chris did his thing and gave everyone something to talk about the next day. If the producers were going for something fresh and different, I'd say "mission accomplished". Let's do it again next year! |

Chris Rock a talent, however, the Oscars are the wrong venue for him. The dignaty and charm that Johnny Carson once brought....and the creativity of Billy Crystal was not merely a group of jokes that we knew the ending to. end |

I think Chris Rock should be ashamed of himself for turning the oscars into a racial statement! They panned in on Robin Williams and even he didn't seem to find his joke funny about blacks accepting the oscar that went on and on too long. Come on. We get it. |

I say bring Chris back. If you were rattled by 60% Chris Rock then you will not be able to stand 100% and that's what I think he will give us if he does it next year. I was just disappointed that he didn't give us more of him. Outside of the vulgar language, Chris is sharp, on point, and a contender. |

Chris Rock was refreshing. Was everything he said funny, NO but he was who he is and that is why the Oscars chose him. I enjoyed Billy Crystal. I enjoyed Steve Martin. I also enjoyed Whoopi Goldberg. What we should remember is that if you can only find yourself and people who look and behave like you acceptable then it is you that has the problem. Not Oscar and not Chris Rock. Chris Rock was not signed on to behave like Billy Crystal or anyone else. Chris Rock was asked to do Oscars because of his successful and hones comedic style. Yes, his style makes some uncomfortable but isn't life uncomforable at times. The great thing is that we should laugh at ourselves as much as Chris makes us laugh at others. Jude Law and everyone else he jabbed (including himself) are going to be ok. They are all fine actors and anyone who knows their work, was not shaken by his humor. I say Bring on more Chris Rock, Jerry Seinfeld, Bernie Mac and Conan O'Brian. Get the lead out people. That's hollywood. That's entertainment! |

Why isn't Chris Rock one of the choices on the Visitor Poll asking Who has been your favorite host of The Oscars? Maybe Chris would be picked more than you think. |

his comments are way out of line! Why does every actor in hollywood think that just because we watch their movies we care about their political opinions? Here is my opinion Chris Rock is a racist! |

Also - How were his comments any different from what letterman and Leno do every night. David wasn't invited back because he wasn't funny!
Sean Penn takes himself way too seriously. Get a sense of humor already! |

Chris was outrageously funny!! I watched the entire presentation. He's edgy. That much was know before they hired him. He took his job seriously. He did not fail to entertain. If he hosts next year - again I'll watch! |

Chris Rock comments were way past and overdue and up straight on how the Oscars are viewed in eyes of regular people's, like the blacks and the hispanics. We have been overlooked and disgarded as if we have no importance in this world. Just to belittle as if we have not been contributors in making America what it is today. Mr. Rock spoke only the truth by allowing the viewers to receive his comments in relaxing matter, but at the same time allowing his viewers to digest the truth. The Ocsar is only for the Ivory Elite/Wealthy Race. He Spoke the truth about Mr. Bush. It is sad when a person speaks the truth; he/she is blackball and blacklist by the Elite as a person in their career. Mr. Rock made affiliating members of the Oscars do a double take and stop looking at themselves in rose color glasses as if they are the only race Blessed as God's Gift to society. Thank you, Chris Rock. Amen. |

Chris Rock was totally out of line comparing his fellow actors to each other as well as the cheap remarks about our president. This is the last awards show I will watch and I speak for 80% of my office. |

Chris Rock was TAME last night!! The oscar's make for quite a bit of material. I thought he used great restraint though still hilarious! Like Sean Penn has any room to talk about anything. |

Frankly,I feel that the Oscars reflect how truly out-dated Hollywood really is.Proof positive that industry, not film makers make films. As for Chris R. hosting,The poor carpenter blames his tools. |
