Poppy Seeds are a very good source of calcium, and also great coolants. Containing opium, it is cultivated for its therapeutic value and also used as a condiment or additive to bakes in some cultures.

anonymous this site is pretty good on delivering the information, but i know that if a teenager/child were to go on this site for the information they would see all the writing and no bother reading it, so maybe somehow you could still have the same information just said differently to minimize the amount of writing. 8/18/2009

lisa hansen thank you, i am pregnant - 6 months, and was not sure if it was ok to eat poppy seed pastery - which i like, knowing that it has som narcotic properties. I guees in a pastery we make - each piece has 2 table spoons of poppy seeds. and i can eat 2 peices at once (4 spoons). but from what you say - seems it is ok and even good for pregnant woman. 10/14/2006
