I HAD A BRAIN HEMORRHAGE IN MAY 2008, THEY COULD,NT FIND WHICH BLOOD VESSELLS IT WAS BLEEDING FROM, SO NO OPERATION NEEDED. BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS EVER SINCE WITH HEADACHES,SPASMPS IN NECK AS WELL AS VOMITING. IT IS QUITE A LONG PROCESS TO GET BETTER PROPERLY, I WAS OFF WORK FOR 8 MONTHS. I ALSO CAUGHT A BLOOD INFECTION IN MY BRAIN WHICH WAS HORRIFIC. I AM LUCKY WITH NO DEFECTS AT ALL I WAS 41YEARS OLD AT THE TIME. |

The information was very simple and easy to understand even for someone like me who has no medical knowledge. My mother has brain hemorrhage stroke 11months ago and till date is bedridden. No operation was performed and she continues to be on ventilator as she does not maintain her oxygen level. She was uncouncious for 1month and then when she did gain counsiousness, her eyes continously kept rolling. As of date today, she is now able to focus her eyes, she understands everything we say, but is not able to move either her hands, feet or mouth. However, she shows 'sudden bursts of recovery' wherein suddenly she responds to everything we say. For example we ask her to lift her hands, and she does it. We ask her to close her eyes, and she does it. We ask her to move her left leg, and she does it. This joy lasts only for that day and then the next day, she is again lifeless. My question, is this sign of recovery?. Would an operation to stich the blood vessels help now?. Thank you for your time. |

Thank you. My uncle , at 79, just died from the effects of BH - a debilitating total left side paralysis, the contracted pneumonia and Mercer virus. My grandfather also died of brainbleed in his seventies.. I suppose it is important that I check into my vulnerability. I am female, 76 yrs. |

I think there should be more publisity about brain hemorrhages at how it can run in familys. Our family as had bad experiences with this myself had 2 but as you say its all about luck. I came through and had some problems but got on with life after a couple of years i was 27 years old.Then 6 years ago my brother died at 43 with a hemorrhage 2 years my other brother died of one at the age of 43 but he was aware that he was having one the ambulance staff and hospital staff dint believe that he was untill a few hours later after been laid on a troolley in a and e he then had another which lead to his death 8 days later then 6 month after he died my sister died at the age of 49 we were all suppose to be getting tested but the nhs as it is dont rush even though this was bad then my younger brother was operated on and had 3 clipped. We still cannot believe what as happened to our family and our worry now lies with our children WILL THEY BE NEXT? Its one constant worry julie |

We have been told that she had to undergo emergency surgery and that it went fine, but everyone is still extremely worried for her. We are sorry to hear tragic story.
There are several public courts in India where you can file your case against such doctors.
You will have to collect all the proofs (such as doctor's diagnosis in which he/she wrongly assumed that the BH your mother was suffering from was nothing but migrane attack, bills of the clinic/hospital etc.) of the incidence that had occurred so as to bring your case to justice.
Hope you will be awarded justice!

i read your article because i recently lost my mother due to BH. i had taken her to the hospital after she felt unconcious with series of vommiing.the doctors in the eergency room said that the case was that of migraine.so without suggesting any st scan or other diagnosis they discharged my mother at midnight .then in the middle of the night i saw my mother feeling difficut to breathe .by the time she was already unconcious.we quikly took her to the hospital.but we had made it late.after 2 days she said goodbye.
had i known the syptoms earlier i could have saved her.i want to know whether the symptoms of migraine are similar to that of migraine.i would very thankful if u would answer this .what kind of action can i take against the doctors. |

My mom had a brain hemmorage In the back of her head In 1996. she is currently having Bad headaches in the front of her head and muscle spasms down the left side of her neck. She was addmitted to the hospital and they took a cat scan in july. It showed that she had dead brain cells in the front of her brain. Does this mean that she could be experiencing another type of brain hemmorage? |

I would suggest both of you to please visit a good specialist as soon as possible ...
Kunal ... I don't really consider that the condition will lead you to BH ... but still you need to get yourself checked ... Don't worry ... you are absolutely fine and may be you are undergoing more stress ... so please do not think that you will suffer from BH. Live a long and happy life!
Bharat ... better way is to ask some specialist ... check out what you can do!

I cannot name a specialist directly, but you surely can find it out from your doctor. In addition, there are several things you can do in order to keep your anger and your health in control. Try relaxation and meditation techniques. You can also try yoga (please do perform yoga under supervision of a some experienced person who knows your problems) in order to balance and maintain proper blood flow in your brain.
Remember: Do not take any medication without any supervision from a specialist.

Sorry to hear about your mom and grandmother. It is surely very hard to find out whether you will be suffering from similar condition or not, but my true and sincere advice for you will be of not to worry about any such thing. All you should do is take it easy and don't even think that you are going to suffer from anything that your mom or grandmother did, may be they had different physical condition.
In case if you want to be sure, then just go ahead and get yourself checked from a reliable physician.
As far as I can say .. I am sure you are quite healthy and you are not suffering from any disease. So don't worry and be happy.

I am sixteen years ols and my mother died of a brain hemmorrhage when i was twelve. My granmother died of deep vain thrombosis when i was two years old. My local gp has told me that there is no exact way of determing whether i not i am likely to die of a similar condition. So therefore i wolud like to know if you could give me a second opinion?
