Evolution Textbooks Row Goes to Court
A suburban American school board found itself in court yesterday after it tried to placate Christian fundamentalist parents by placing a sticker on its science textbooks saying evolution was 'a theory, not a fact'.

Evolution is not just a theory. It is supported by such a massive amount of evidence that denial of evolution is equal to denial of reality. Love your religion, but don't rap it up and tell me it is science! |

Dr G , you are a fool as evolution CAN be tested and doesnt strike against any laws of science. I feel the sorrow of your patients, esp if you feel that MD is the right to become your own God. Intelligent design is untested and unproved. The fossil record shows the the validity of evolution. By the way, its not evolution but natural selection that you are refering to. And that is from Charles Darwin in the The Origins of Species, And that is a theory. Just like good ole pythagorean and his pythagorean theorem. A squared plus B squared equals C squared. Yes that is a theory too, so you want that out of the math books too. And sometimes you must rock the boat just like Gray in Gray's Anatomy. Corpse mutlation was a crime then and yet he did it in the name of science and education. So your career is based on those that rocked the boat in medicine. Just like that little theory that the sun might be the middle of the universe but that is just me |

I am a chemist and a dentist and a graduate of the Medical College of GA. I have had over 6 years of science at the college level, all within the state of GA. Evolution is not science but at best a philosophy. It is not even a theory, because it is not falsifiable. It can not be tested. Even our 1st, 2nd laws of science, and law of biogenisis , contradicts evolution. Both creation and evolution are actually models that science is placed into, and religions are spit out! Creation has given us three religions -the major ones, and evolution has given us the multitude of others. Evolution is therefore more religious than creation- in that sense. It was Clarence Darrow who said that it was the height of bigotry to teach only one side-during the scopes trial- the shoe is now on the other foot. Let's quite brainwashing our kids. They need all the critical thinking skills they can get, in such times as this.
