Dancing with Saint Vitus
I’d wondered about Saint Vitus before, but my curiosity was piqued by the card I found at a local neighborhood garage sale. It portrayed a young sainted man, nimbus in tact, posing with a rooster. Underneath was written Svaty Vit. "Could it be Polish for a …Saint Victor?" I venture- wait...was there a Saint Victor....?

I enjoyed this article. I too would appreciate if I could contact its author Denny DiGregorio as I would like to know what sources he used so I could investigate it all further. Thanks for writing this. |

I'd always thought that Saint Vitus Dance was fully blamed on ergot infected rye (which produces many chemicals, LSD included). |

I'm trying to contact Denny DiGregorio. I read Denny DiGregorio's article at Buzzle.com about Saint Vitus. My name is John Vieth. My ancestors in Germany were given the name Vieth in the early 1600s as an honorary title for their distinguished service in the 30 Years War. Sankt Vieth is German for Saint Vitus. So I'm trying to learn more about Saint Vitus. Great story! That's how I found the article at Buzzle.com. While reading the article, I noticed the image of the Saint Vitus great card. I very much would like a high resolution (600x600) scan of all sides--front, back, and inside--of the card. It's one of the best images I've found on the web, but it's too low-res. I need a high-res version. Can someone help me please? I would be happy to pay for someone's time. Please reply to john@vieth.info |
