The tale of the lion that has become extinct - The Barbary Lion. This was the beast that was glorified in the ancient Roman scriptures. Considered to be the link between the African and Asian lion. Human intervention has wiped out this magnificent predator.

Sara Morales When I read or look at pictures about extinct animals its so amazing, I feel as if I went back in time I can't even explain how fasinating it feels, but yet also so sad because we humans caused the deaths and extinctions of some animals. 2/17/2006
naomi There is stil one breeding pride of barbary lions left in world, they are living at port lympne zoo in britain. They are big magnificent creatures. The last time i visited there was one male two females and three cubs. they are very efficient breeders, and i think it a shame that these no longer survive in the wild. 9/7/2005
