ThinIsAlwaysIn If Fat is so Flabulous, will you porkers stop clogging the courts with your BS lawsuits against McDonald's and Burger King? If obesity is not a disease then fast food hasn't harmed you and you have nothing to complain about. And quit taking 2 seats on the Metro. Other people have a right to sit their normal-size asses in a seat too. Maybe you should buy a bicycle or a wheel barrow. 2/5/2006
Caroline I have a sister who has been overweight all her life. Some of it is genetic but some, I believe is behavioral. She doesn't eat breakfast or lunch but eats dinner and again, before bed. Her schedule of eating is ass-backwards. I' m fortunate because I have a fairly rapid metabolism and stress burns off my weight. I sympathize with overweight people but some of their misery is self-inflicted. 12/28/2004
Mari Schofield FABULOUS! Thank you so much for this article. It is awesome. A great website you can pass on. You can read excerpts from The Healing(true tales of a food addict) and read an article Confessions of a Food Addict. Again Thank you. 12/3/2004
Jackie Bankston I am an overweight woman, age 46, and I have struggled with my weight for many years. I don't like to diet either, but there is no way you will ever convince me that being fat is good for me, either emotionally or physically. I have come to have decent self-confidence about my body, though I still continue to try to lose weight. I accept that I am large, but that does not mean I should stop trying. It is a proven fact ( i don't need a doctor to tell me this) that joints in my knees and hips will hurt WORSE the more weight they have to bear. I don't want to be a twiggy, but if you think for one minute that I believe obese people shouldn't do whatever they can to battle their "disease" you are mistaken. Yes, I feel discriminated against sometimes because I can't find hip looking clothes in my size, or the airline seat isn't quite big enough. but EVERYONE is discriminated against for something these days = their color, the fact that they smoke or drink, their size, their facial features. Whatever..... I say get a life and get a grip! And never stop trying to get healthier! 8/9/2004
