its funny how the gospel can be twisted to justify our sinful nature. To know deep in our hearts that something is blantly wrong and try and say that it is okay to do because we form the gospel to fit our lives. That is wrong! We are to use the gospel to shape our lives to what God wants us to be for his glory. I can't wait for his return. |

What differs heterosexuality from homosexuality? One of the biggest differences is homosexual partners are not legally linked to one another. If the government does not include homosexuality then can not be legally correct.
Why doesn't the government allow homosexuality if it is an "orientation" and not merely a preference? Homosexuality is based on choosing someone, anyone, based on the love you feel for them. Then would this not include incest (relationships between family members; such as, two sisters, or first cousins) and possibly polygamy? They are people who have fallen in love with an unconventional person too.
If the government allows something besides the conventional man and woman, where should it stop? Should it stop with consenting adults because people in incestual relations may be consenting adults too? Who can decide what the lines should be? |

David and Jonathan never had any type of sexual intercourse. That piece of information is very incorrect. David and Jonathan were very close friends, just that. They were the very example of the way our world has been corrupted. People think that two boys that are closer than usual are homosexual, YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE HOMOSEXUAL to have a close relationship with someone of your same gender. That kind of friendship is pure, if you keep it pure. I am opposed to homosexuality for the sole reason that a man should not lay with a man, just as a woman should not lay with a woman.
The closeness kept by homosexuals is ok in my opinion, but once you start getting into sexual intercourse and touching where you shouldn't, thats where you go wrong.,,
David and Jonathan were very close friends, so close that they MIGHT have seemed homosexual, but they were none of the sort. They were men of God and like men of God they were not succumbed to linking friendshhip to love. They were attracted to each other maybe like homosexuals were(by this I mean how strongly they felt for each other) but they never went into that kind of relationship.
How can I say this... they were very very close friends, but just because they were so close does not mean taht they were gay. Its a modern misconception, some people who are gay might not even be gay... they're just classified as so by modern society because they seem closer to their friends of the same gender, but just because you're that close to your same gendered friend does not mean you have to become homosexual. The world is against that kind of closeness because its commonplace, but like I've stated before, David and Jonathan were that close, but they were never considered homosexual because they never took their care for each other farther then a very close FRIENDship.
The author of this article looks at it now and says they were gay just because they were close. That's very close minded and a biased thinking. Just because you were raised to believe that boys shouldn't hug each other or be as close together, doesn't mean that when two boys do that they want to have the kind of relationship where sexual love us involved. For the most part, I believe that when homosexuals begin to become the other gender and when they begin to cross into the sexual aspects of love, that then and only then are they homosexuals. It might seem odd to you and to a lot of people, but people can have that kind of close friendship without having that sort of sexual desire. Now that this modern world has begun to accept homosexuality the way it does, that kind of friendship can no longer exist... |

i do not think the bible states that David had a sexual relationship to Jonathan, the bible talks about a relationship based on friendship between those two, no referrence shows that they had a sexual one. i think thats wrong. |

Jedidah - the purpose of god in all the religions i have studied so far is all about peace and accepting your fellow man for who they are. this is said in different ways "honor thy father" "respect thy neighbour" and all that... get over it. homosexuality has been around since the stone age when the idea of loving a man meant you were a stronger person because "man is the stronger sex" (which i do not believe)
Eric - learn how to spell. and the bible does not say that. the bible is so open to interpretation it's not even funny, and i am a religion major. I have studied the bible, the hebrew testaments and islam, it's all pretty much the same, it's so not precise it's not even funny. maybe you should switch churches?
Josh - Homosexuality is not illegal. Homosexual marriage is(in the usa... which doesn't seem to be pro-choice considering if a 13 yr old girl is raped and gets pregnant she can't get an abortion...which is sad, because if she were to give birth her body would litteraly snap in two). If Homosexuality was illegal then there would be one of every 10 people in jail...

One other thing... I have a question for anyone willing to answer... Who is to say, if homosexuality is made legal, that someone with other un-natural preference could not indeed pursue other relationships? For example: Mother and son, a man and an animal, Brothers, exc. It wouldn't be fair. |

i totally agree with Beth's comment, love is not all about sex, i am a good scholar of the bible, the refrence about David & Johathan is wrong. procreation one of the reasons for marriage could only be possible thro a male & a female as it was clearly shown in the book of Genesis. anyone in support of same sex marriage is perverting the purpose of God which is for man to multiply and fill the earth.

An excellent article with a disappointing and major floor which indicates shoddy scolastics, the OT does not mention any sexual activity between Davis and Jonathon. Love does not have to have a sexual nature but can be deeper than that of a married couple. Don't be too quick to see sexual activity everywhere-it dulls wisdom and disernment. |

I think that same sex marriages is discussing. There has to be something mentally wrong with you if you are attracted to the same sex. If you can remember God told Moses to kill all homos in addition to that God destroyed a whole city in the Bible and finally God said that homosexuality was an abomination to him. I would be afraid to sin in that manner. People this is perverted and if we don't want our cities to be destroyed we better give these unnatural sexual practices up. For the naysayers who says that everyone has though about same sex acts is telling a lie. Marriage is for male and female only. The Hebrew Old Testament does not clearly indicate that David and Jonathan had sexual relations. It is an inference either way to say that they did have sexual relations, or that they did not. There is a difference between sexual and intimate. |
