It is a sad thing that happened to mary kate. But everyone, especially teenagers make mistakes as they go along throgh life. . .it's part of growing up. For everyone to sit there and gossip about it like she's such a horrible person for doing this is not good. At least she realized she wasn't well and needed help. Thats takes a lot of guts, and then the tabloids n everything exploit it making it seem like a really horrible thing. Those people will do anything for a story! If someone in my city and i'm sure anywhere else did coke or hell even if they didn't and their employer heard about it their ... would be fired i don't see why celebs get it so easy i mean they just say "yeah well they will check into rehab and all will be good" well you know what it won't be good i have coke heads in my family that went to rehab to quit and even alcholics that went for rehab and i know once and substance abuser always one they've had a taste for it and once that happens sure you can quit but it'll always come back may take some time and sometimes it may not even work i think they should fire her ... and even if it ain't drugs i mean anorexia thats a desease man sure some ppl say well it was the producers and crap like that well if she was supposed to be a role model for girls and she did that i mean what kind of role model is that you have to stand up for what you believe in heck with what ppl tell you to do even if it means your job i know i would look up to someone more if they did what they believed in no matter what race or weight then someone so beautiful and skinny that she would sink so low as to put her life in danger i think all you ppl who look up to her are nuts she's obviously no role model weather its coke or and eating disorder |

I hope that through all of her problems young girls realize that nobody is perfect, and being thin comes at a great cost to health. The external beauty that makes people famous isn't all that it's cracked up to be, and it's not naturally attainable even for them (celebrities). There is no telling the extensive damage that eating disorders and drugs can cause. Those are just quick fixes that can end up being deadly. I don't think that the media should exploit her problems, though. I mean it's good that young girls get to see that everything thing that glitters isn't always gold, so to speak, but that shouldn't come at the cost of takening away mary-kate privacy. However, I'm sure her millions will help her heal. I hope that teenagers learn from her mistakes instead of following in her footsteps. |
