The overwhelming "normal" state for any object in the universe is to not be alive. Death is merely "regression to the mean." We begin to age after we hit our peak reproductive age because after that we no longer are subject to the natural selection pressures that would extend our lives. It is possible this age could be pushed around, if we lived in an environment that provided greater reproductive success for so-doing, but it would take quite a long time for that environment to act upon us in such a way. As for the unfounded and copious religious claims herein, they are all wishful thinking. There is no after-life, there is no God, there is no salvation, and as diseased tissue is still evident during autopsy, death doesn't cure all diseases (other than it alleviates any and all suffering caused by those diseases). I am baffled where such a superstition could even arise, as the dead are known carriers of disease. In the Hindu caste system (so much for controlling your destiny.. not in India you don't), those that handle the dead are amongst the lowest of the low. If one of these enters your home, it is contaminated and must be purified. I guess as India becomes more American, or Indians who migrate to the West become more and more American, the American penchant for creating your own spin-off cult is becoming more and more prevalent. I am, of course, merely spit-balling here. |

I agree with you that that incident about the twins is a terrible occurance and seems unfair at every angle we could possibly look at it, but God is not a mere human like us. God has no limitations to His thinking and reasoning. We may not understand why God would allow such a cruel situation to take place because we cannot even come close to comprehending God's reasons for allowing the things He does. He is sovereign. Just a few of many verses you could refer to in the Bible are Isaiah 45:5-7, Exodus 21:12, and Deut. 32:39. God has perfect timing and everything that happens fits into His complete and perfect plan. We do not always see why He has allowed someone close to us to die or why we must go through any trials in our lives but this is because we can't see the big picture. That trial or rough patch has a purpose and could have a positive outcome, such as, making a person stronger emotionally or giving that person a "wake up call". It just depends on the person and their choices because God may be sovereign but He still gives His children free will. The point is mustagluver, we are not able to see the whole picture and we do not always know why God does the things He does because He is all-knowing and we are not. |

A pair of twins both fall into a pool and drown. Both are in great health...both are 4 yrs old...they are retrieved..given all the treatment for drowing. One makes it, the other is in a veg state...why? Why would a kind, wonderful God allow for that? I do not believe a God would allow for that...i do not believe a God would allow all the horrible occurances in our world...therefore, it is non existence. Rediculous to say the very least. Religion is just a way to make those who need it, feel wanted and needed and a part of something. Religion has done nothing but cause great hostility from day one!!!! |

You have but one life to live, no doubt about it. Religion is the spreader of fantasy. I am possitive that if there were a Heaven or hell or a life after death, there would have been some shred of vital evidence we could bite into but there is not, never was and never will be. We have more of a chance in becoming immortal then a life after death.....sorry. |

If you ever had surgery, then you know what death is. You are totally unaware of anything until you are awakened. So it must be with death except you never wake up. Just as you were unaware that you were in the womb for 9 mos and un aware that you were born. As hard as you may try, you will never ever remember being a sperm...so it is with death...you go back to nothing. It is a nice fantasy that you become a spirit floating around or that you will live in Heaven or hell, but that's all it is, a total fantasy that someone made up to make us feel better about death. |
