| andrew a | i think one should always keep in view the fact that picasso derived cubism from his observation of the phenomena in african sculpture 1912-1915,,,and adopted this to painting,,,it tends to be a western issue to make say, christopher colombus famous as a discoverer of lands which people lived in already,,,so also picasso was hailed by western critics and adopted by the press,,,its more a marketing exercise,,,same hapenned to jackson pollock, who couldnt draw to save his life but was turned into some sort of cult hero by the american media,,, | 9/1/2011 |
