Well....I honestly can say that I know how difficult Anorexia can be...and Im sorry she has to deal with it...along with everything else. But I can also honestly say that....I am not very surprised...I think that being one of the richest kids in the world would definatly make you start to wonder eventually whether you were "good enough" for everyone. When practiacally the whole world is at your feet.....I don't think anyone could stay sane for too long...especailly when you're 18 years old...that's just crazy to have that much publicity that young.

Poor girls. It'd be incredibly difficult to live in the spotlight. There is already a ridiculous amount of pressure on girls to be thin; to be female and famous is a double whammy.
Eating disorders are very dangerous and very complicated. They have the highest death rate of any pyschological disorder. They can take years to defeat.
All I can say is that this is a private matter for Mary-Kate and her family, and I wish her and her sister the best. |

so many women, and even some men have eating disorders. weather it be anorexia, bulimia, or over eating. mk shouldnt be judged on this, our society creates this 'perfect image' for people to follow and its sad. i hope her struggle gets easier as the years go on, but she will always struggle. its a life long disease and i wish her the best. |

You are so right cathedrals13! It really angers me when people who don't know what they are alking about think that it's so easy to just get better if you are anorexic. If you are anorexic then it stays with you your whole life, it's not like there is just a cure for it and it goes away. It's a psycological disease that never properly goes away. My sister has been anorexic for about 12 years and we thought she was getting better but she is going back to not eating again so that just shows you that you can't just get over it . You might think that Mary Kate is stupid for what she is doing and that it is her own choice and it might be true but the fact of the matter is, once you start it's hard to stop. I just hope that MK gets better. |

So many of you girls have no idea what you are talking about. I have dealt with anorexia, and it is a DISEASE. You cannot just simply eat, and it will all go away. You keep losing weight, and you still see yourself as fat, no matter how skinny you are. There is no simple fix. I hope that you understand that. |

Eww it is sooo sick how she looks. I used to look up to them both but I can't even bare to see a picture of MK anymore. I'm really glad that she has at least admitted to her serious problem. I'm not anorexic but as most teenagers do I am conceious about my weight and my appearance but I can't even imagine not eating food!! She didn't even look like she was healthy she was just disgustingly thin and gross. You could so tell it wasn't from excerzise. Oh well, I applaud her for taking actions but I wonder how this will affect their empire. Hopefully she is able to recover and have things go back to a little bit normal but I honestly think Ashley will be the one who goes off and continues making movies and she will succeed but I think after this MK's fans will split: some will continue to adore her because she admitted to her problem and the other half will stop thinking of her as a role model. Whatever, Ashley was always the more sophisticated and pretty one but now I can actually see that she IS more capable of being in they public eye. I hope Ashley's career isn't affected by MK's poor decisions. *Mia |

Mary Kate is obviously ill. Anorexia has nothing to do with her wanting to be thin and trying to look like a model in a magazine. It's about perfection and pressure. I am not surprised that a young girl with as much power as she does developed this disorder. Anorexia more than anything is about control. I do not belive Mary-Kate Olsen has an eating disorder.. yeah she has lost alot of weight.. but everytime somebody in hollywood looses weight they are said to have bad eating habits like anorexia/bulimia... or if they gaina few pounds they are labeled "Fat" or on the verge of the eating disorder called overeating.. seriously i read about it all the time.. no one will leave them alone.. loosing weight is that persons business no one elses.. maybe she lost weight because her life is really busy now and weight can fluctuate because of stress.. there are other reasons then just jumping to anorexia... they are small girls to begin with.. 5'1 and 5'2 are their heights.. they are not underweight for thweir height.. mk was reported to be anywhere from 100-95lbthats not underweight for her height .. n ashley 100-105 ... they are just real tiny.. thats all.. i mean ppl loose weight for all reasons.. i mean i eat all the time and im 5'3 and weigh 90 lbs... not everything is how ppl think it is... only mary-kate knows the truth.. |

I think that Mary-Kate does have an eating disorder
it is common for separation with twins to take a huge toll
on at least one of them and this is how she is coping with
the change. It is sad that some people close to her can't
get her help and even if they are both just losing weight
naturally, people who are close with them should be
feeding them more substanial food that will help them
be healthy rather than just lose weight. |

I think it's crazy how the media will just make accusations about anything they can. Maybe MK has lost some lbs., get over it. I agree that eating disorders are a serious problem, but until it's confirmed out of MARY-KATE'S mouth that she is struggling with her weight, then who are we to decide that she needs to gain weight? Rachel, if you are saying that you are fat at 81 lbs, it is time to get help! I am not saying this because I am fat and jealous, in fact quite the opposite. But if I hadn't gotten the help I needed at 5'5" and 105 lbs, I probably wouldn't be typing this right now. Everyone's body is different and having a healthy body is important. No matter what you weigh, it is how you percieve yourself that ends up defining an eating disorder. You can't say that you or Mary Kate are "stupid" for wanting to loose weight, you just need to address the underlying problems that may be creating a negative body image. Oh and to the person that said something about the chocolate Frappachino, sometimes people with anorexia eat bad for you things, so that they are satisfied when they do it, but that may be about all they eat, making their habbits even more unhealthy. |

The story about Mary-Kate Olsen is interesting. To me, I think there are many ways as to why Mary-Kate isn't eating right. She could be stressed or there a lot of things in her life that are going on in life which makes her not have time to eat. This is a very serious matter that I think really shouldn't be brought up. Really it isn't our business on how the Olsen Twins eat. But these sort of things should a private matter with the family.
