ecology, conservation and social progress are but words when this slaughter of marine mammals is scantioned by the government.
today's primitive political ownership of the Oceans is obsolete.
seals are not fish.
the Canadian government is as dysfunctional as were the dukes and barons of the 18th century.
if it can't get it's act together even on saving the environment, may it soon join the USSR in being history.

Ellen Rand Seals are highly intelligent Marine Mammals and can be thought of as our "coastal
cousins". The way we treat
other mammals that inhabit this planet is indicative of the level our culture. If other mammals are thought of as
mere objects for consumption,
sport or clothing (fur and leather), we our denigrating all
advanced mammalian life.
Therefore, human life also decreases in value.

If we are truly human beings
having advanced intelligence
and capable of compassion,
we should abhor the brutal killing of these marine mammals that are being treated as mere objects for
