Looking For a Few Good Moms

How One Mother Rallied a Million Others Against the Gun Lobby. In the summer of 1999, Donna Dees-Thomases was busy juggling the demands of two young children and a TV job promoting comedy gags.

I saw your interview with Bill O, on Foxnews. I though you discredited yourself by defending Rosi O. You took a very weak approach. You have no guts to either stand for what you believe, or you just another Rossi O. Both are bad. My daughter would have had the courage to stand against the obscenity that came from Rosie O. You thought it appropriate for private setting. I would have kicked her out of my house. Your very weak!

isiunveiled I agree with all of you but I will also like to add that those same mothers against violence were angry that black women also wanted to walk considering that fact thousands of black women have lost their children to guns, gangs, and violence. Those same women for "harmony" told them racist comments and didnt want them to help even though it's a complete knock of the Million Man March. I personally feel that neither the Million Man March of the Million Mom March were not effective because the white females do not want to see their racism against black women but they want white males to respect them of gender, and Farrakahn, leader of the MMMarch do not want to see his sexist views against black women but at the same time want white males to notice their racist views about black men. Marching and picketing against companies, manufacturers, and distributors against the products they make is useless. People need to take responsibility for their own actions. Every gun has a trigger, if you pull it's your fault not the National Rifle Association. 1/21/2005
Jan What a load of BS!!!

The whole thing is an illusion. This woman presents herself as an uninvolved, apolitical mother, but is the sister-in-law of Hillary Clinton's closest friend, Susan Thomases, and gave $1,000 to Hillary Clinton on the day before the event that supposedly sparked her political involvement. She was also the Manager of Communications for CBS News, during which time Dan Rather got an exclusive interview with Sarah Brady, yet claims that she "didn't know the Brady Bill from the Brady Bunch," and later said that she'd always admired Sarah Brady. She also had been an aide to two Democrat senators...does this sound like she's someone who was totally unknowing about politics? It's no wonder she spouts lies throughout, not caring that the controls she advocates actually cost the lives of many, including women who are seeking self-protection.

barrybain Probably just another stupid mother that believes that a gun kills people. Especially when it takes a person to pull the trigger. I have never seen a gun sitting on a table that shot someone by itself. It takes person to kill. 6/3/2004
Amy Tursky I thought I would be able to spend a quiet day with my family on the mall. I though the days of turning Mothers day into a political even were over. I guess I am wrong!! 4/19/2004
