| LAT | We barely have barely harnessed the ability to sustain our negligent and violent lifestyle on this planet without destroying it. How in the hell are are we going to be able to overcome our naturally destructive and xenophobic tendendcies enough to not only travel to, but inhabit another planet? I hate to be the optimist and pessimists depress me so I will take the middle route--the cup can be either half full or half empty...it just depends on whether it was full to begin with or filled halfway in the beginning. I would like to think that we were (are) only filled halfway and still have a chance... | 7/25/2010 |
| Liam Smith | I think it would take a few more generations as from about now technology will only progress alot slower than what it has done. The speed of the aircrart would have to be about 15 times more speed than what any would do now. For use to reach the end of our galaxy it is said to take 2 years and a life time to reach another star. This means if we increase the speed of the aircraft it would take us 2-10 years to migrate on another planet. Do not take this all seriously as im only 12 and british | 11/6/2008 |
| Ross Alexander. | Don't think that the sun burns 700 billion tons of hydrogen per second. What is the basis of your calculations? | 12/25/2006 |
