"Millions" is an unforgivably excessive exaggeration, especially when one considers that the combined pre-bomb population of both cities was no more than 700,000 (proably closer to 600,000). This statement of yours is incorrect. Millions did not die instantly in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. In Hiroshima, around 140,000 people died by the end of the year, and in Nagasaki, around 70,000 people died by the end of the year. Although more did die later due to radiation, a combined 210,000 people died within a year of the explosion in both cities, which, is not "instantly."		 4/18/2004
