The video game controversy is nothing more than a fad! In every type of media there has been controversy and frankly this is just their last thing "to make a difference for the children of today and tomorrow".Kids just need to be monitored on what they play. It's not the kids fault if their mom buys them a rated M for mature game. It's the mom's am I not right?The mom has no right to sue if she read the game cover and knew that it was rated M. Banning video games shouldn't even come to mind! If a 40 year old man wants to play video games for 10 hours each day...so be it! I mean it's unfair to do that to a person! Maybe there can be tests to see if the person is "mature" enough and has a grip on reality in order to play those games. |

I want to say that video games don't effect people. I've played them for 18 years and the only thing I do is argue with my parents so I can play longer. I've never played a game and thought hey this would be fun to try on a real person..... You really got to be missed up to kill someone like you saw in a video game. |

Video games are not a curse. They are another means of entertainment just as is everything else that we do. The issue is that is have to be done in moderation. Even too much physical activity can harm you, but everyone over looks that simple fact. The negative effects of video games just seem more obvious, so they are deemed more harmful |

as a child myself i realise that long hours in front of a monitor screen has many disadvantages but because the brain is still constantly stimulated this must be a good thing. although there are cases with childeren haveing bad bodely pain this is only due to over playing. whilist playing such video games many childeren suffer many violent behavours. so in conclusion the only fault is parent letting childeren play to many pc and video games. |

I'm going to try not to be biast. I agree that video games do releive stress. If you play a video game and take out a few computer animated people instead of yelling at your parents or friends good for you. If you yell at your parents/friends because you screwed up on a video game there is something else wrong... Not the game. On the other side too much playing may be harmful to your health, grades, and social skills. |

I will admit I am an avid gamer. My games stack up to 3 feet and I have beaten all of them. So naturally I will stick up for this industry. Games improve reaction times in gamers as well. In a study at my school someone measured the reaction times of gamers and non gamers the gamers had reaction times of 14/100 average while the non gamers had closer to 22/100 of a second. Oh and the one up there who thinks the headache was caused by the videogame. In the first page of EVERY instruction manual it says stop playing if you dont feel good and not to play if you are tired or sore and to play games in MODERATION. IF you don't like videogames then dont play them. |
