The way I see it everyone thinks the Wii is so great because you move around a lot and they think that there are no violent games for it. Well they are wrong. It has games like Resident Evil 4 and the Umbrella Chronicles, Mad World, Call of Duty World At War, Alone in the Dark, and many more. But no one will ever think about them. They think it’s a perfect little kids’ system, when in truth the 360 could be a lot better. Ya, you don’t move around to play it, but why not just limit the time that they can be on it? Or if it’s their passion just let them play. I know I'm only in the 11th grade, but my passion is for video games and for as long as I can remember I have played them without any problems. I'm in perfect health and I am no where near being fat. Im truthfully too thin, but I have always played games from the time I get home from school to the time I go to bed. And my grandma, who I live with, supports me and thinks it is a good thing that I will be pursuing a career based on my passion, and will be doing it for the rest of my life. And that career is game design/programming and for those of you who think all mature rated games should be banned, I say monitor your kids a little better and teach them that that stuff is bad or fake (depending on the game) and there would be no problem with them. So what I am really trying to say is that games are games. They don’t create violent kids if the parents would watch them more and tell them what is wrong and right. And if it gets to where they get mean and angry a lot, take it away for a while and give it back only when they are not like that.

It is a hard topic to critisize or oppose, yet it is also hard to support as there are many arguements that can undermine anothers theory.
Some children WILL take advanatage of games in schools and do the wrong thing, whereas others won't. Children need to be educated in the risk factors that accompany playing games 24/7. |

those who become violent arent violent because of video games. violent people play violent games in real life and on Xbox or whatever. nobody has become violent through video games alone. i agree that parents should limmit violent games to certain mental ages for gneral reasons, but too much limmitation can cause exess rebellion, increasing into anger, then violence for ages as young as 5 years old. |

I started to make better grades when i dtarted to play games.I went from a C student to a straight A student.I was tested for a GTA program and scored an almost perfect score.And it dont make me gain wieght,because i am underwieght.It has helped me alot,a little pain is worth it.Overrall Video games are good for you. |

I am doing a pursuasive paper and I am debating that they should put a rating on the video games. And I was wondering that if these affects are showing dont you think that someone would do something more like the people who decide wether this is a game that is too violent? Or how this article said that an 11 year old boy was sent to the hospital witih a condition known as 'Nintendonitis', dont you think that the people who create the video game would think that it is too long and addictive that they should cut it shorter? Because I know some games that you have to complete some certain level before you can go on. I think that some of the video game designers should just think about the effects. |
