Libby The over crowding of unwanted and homeless dogs and cats in every state in every shelter is disgusting. The solution to this is a mandatory spay and neuter law unless you are a licensed a breeder/which has it's own set of controversy. Madatory spay and neuter laws will cut down on the amount of animals being dumped at animal shelters, therefore decreasing the cost of county and state funding spent. Working at several shelters and watching these animals being euthanized is something that will stick in your mind forever. I really feel if every politician and every person worth a vote would take the time to volunteer at an an animal shelter and participate in the euthanasia that we would have a Mandatory spay and neuter law more quickly. This is such a sad situation and until you live it you will never feel the importance of the need for spay and neuter law. 5/5/2008

Smart ME I think that the animals should be euthanized id they have an illness that could harm other domestic animals in the population. Also, I do think that a way to control animal population is through euthanasia. An great alternative to euthanaisa is to spade/ neuter your animals. 12/6/2004
