Killing any living thing is barbaric especially for ridiculous reasons. Would any of us like it if we were considered amusement or hobby or food to those that are bigger than us? They DO speak, and it's just not our language and of our understanding nature. Just imagine, some big and weird species found our earth and us, human beings, as food. We can't communicate with them, they think we don't speak and they think... oh they r just little creatures and they taste good so lets eat them they dont understand anything. I can just imagine how we would feel and thats most likely the same for animals.
If for food, God didnt only create animals that are edible. he created other things called Plants, fruits, vegetables! When you think about it, there are many deceases that derived from animals and there is 'i think' none from eating produce! so maybe it is like that for a reason. a reason God placed before us to understand what we shouldnt do. |

those who kill animales for their skin can just die...and how about we go and hunt those who hunt animales and take off their skin and torcer them like they do animals and see how they like it...aniamales have feelings to just as wall as humans. |

people shouldnt kill animals for food or art...art is something more than a slaughter to animals.....if your an art major you should know. Just some people dont get it. Ok imangine you killing a person for art in front of everyone...slicing them up..skinning them..yeah quiver?? It should be like that to animals..whats the difference? Animals, eat, live, breath the same things we do..they function pretty much the same way. They're like humans....and shouldnt be killed for any reason. |

Pregnant Horse Slain In Pasture, Butchered For Meat

THONOTOSASSA - When Shelly Mutter went to check on the five horses and half-dozen cattle roaming an enclosed pasture off Williams Road on Monday, she knew something was wrong.
She called for Snow Girl, a 3- year- old white Arabian crossbreed who was pregnant and was expected to deliver within weeks. The horse didn't come, but the other horses did, and they began to call to her.
``They were making these heart-wrenching noises that I'd never heard before,'' said Mutter, who has been bringing the horses treats for years.
They started to run toward the other end of the pasture. Mutter followed. The sight that awaited her was horrifying.
Snow Girl was lying on the ground next to a tree, covered in blood. She had been stabbed in the side, her throat had been slit, and her body was sliced from the shoulders to past the hips, butchered for the meat. Her foal was dead inside the womb.
Next to the horse was a bloody rope, apparently used to tie her to the tree during the attack, officials said.
``They didn't even have the decency to shoot her first to keep her from suffering,'' said Randell McDaniel, who owns the animals and more than 200 acres they roam near Sligh Avenue and Williams Road. ``It is so senseless and cruel.''
Hillsborough County sheriff's detectives are investigating. McDaniel said he stopped by the pasture Sunday afternoon and the horse was alive, so investigators say the attack likely happened Sunday night, sheriff's Lt. Rod Reder said.
The sheriff's agricultural unit is investigating the incident as an animal cruelty and grand theft case. Both charges are third-degree felonies and carry sentences of up to five years in prison.
It was unclear Tuesday whether one person or more than one killed the 2,000- pound horse and hauled away the meat.
Investigators are encouraging anyone with information to call the sheriff's office at (813) 247-8200 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS (8477).
Reder said the reason for the attack is clear. ``This was definitely done for the horse's meat. The way this animal was butchered, there's no doubt. And there are many areas of the world outside the United States where it's common to eat horse meat.''
Reder said cattle occasionally have been killed for their meat in Hillsborough County, but he had never heard of it happening to a horse.
McDaniel said one of his cattle was attacked and butchered about a year ago.
He owns McDaniel Appliances, 12830 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in Dover, and has nine horses and numerous cattle at two pastures in Hillsborough County.
He said Mutter, a family friend, came by each day to visit the horses and bring them treats.
Mutter said Snow Girl was friendly and would have approached anyone, without hesitation.
``She was so sweet, so loving,'' Mutter said. ``She would come right up to you, looking for treats, and she'd kiss you and put her head on your shoulder. She was so trusting. I'm sick about this. It's going to haunt me forever. I couldn't sleep last night.''

I'm 14. I have a horse, and two dogs. I have decided to stop eating chicken because of the way they slauter them!! I am sick of seeing you all put "I Think"!! How bout trying "I KNOW"?!?! So here it goes...I know that this is a disgusting and cruel thing to be doing to poor innocent animals!! even though this is just a website and not many people are gonna see it but oh well!! I am disgusted and I believe that you sick, sadistic freaks who do this to the animals NEED to go into counceling and Prison!! (Sorry...I suck at spelling!!) This is no laughing matter and someone, somehow Needs to put an end to it NOW!! I would die for any one of my animals or friends animals...ANY animal for that matter!! I am too sickend to continue. |

I am a vegetarian so it would be hypocritical saying that i agree with animals being slaughtered for art, although, i am also an artist and in a strange way think it more acceptable for animals to be killed for art then meat or tests on animals.ive seen art using animal corpses that has been amazing,though i think a larger statement could be made if the animal were to have a diseas,as this could be graphically shown and from the protestors view,the animals suffering would stop. |

i think thatthese poeple who kil for the purpose of art are incredibly stupid and cruel. Animals should not be killed under any curciumstance only if they are in extreme pain. In this article it is evident that these animals werent in extreme pain when killed. To gain acces to animals that are always sick like these "artists" is extraodinary. These people should be put in jail and be taught a lesson. |

i am only 13 and i totally understand what this article is saying...no one should kill animals for there own amusement..and yes art is only a hobby..over 70 million animals are torchered and killed each year in laboratorys..then add on the total that are killed in art and n captivity and dont even make me go into Draize testing..i also dont think any of or taxes should go to animal research unless we sighn an agreement..we are talking 50 million dollars a year out of OUR taxes....this is ome screwed up stuff... |
