Ken Another group of people that are BARELY described on this entire website is the Garinagu. They're the descendants of Sub-Saharan African slaves & Native Americans (the Carib tribe to be exact, or the Arawaks according to other sources). Their racial formation bnegan on the island of St. Vincent, although they now mostly reside in Central America with a minority having migrated to the U.S. As black/dark-skinned Latin Americans, they often get marginalized by the largely European-descended authorities. Great strides are being made to provide justice and equality for all, just like in other coutries. However, this interesting group of people continues to be overshadowed by other ethnic groups. This can be due to lack of information, ignorance, or even racism. You can help reverse this just by searching "Garifuna" on the internet & spreading the word. Please help cast a light on one of history's "underexposed" people...
