This kind of thing should never be tolerated. I love all kinds of herps and it is my goal to become a herpetologist. All animals are a big responsibility and if you don't have the proper accomodations then you should not try and take on that kind of responsibility. That museum should shut down and the animals be put up for adoption. |

Steve Kates is one of the biggest threats to Animals in America. He used to own Parrot Jungle in the 70's and I cant tell you how many birds he killed. He is a crook who also committed insurance fraud.
He should be kept out of the animal business forever!!!! |

I would just like to point out that "Angelina"'s comment is not only bull@#$ but biased as she is his WIFE. Actually, I'd be willing to bet that Steve actually wrote the comment himself, I don't think her english is that advanced. That's Steve's mentality if nobody else will say something in his defense he will pretend someonelse is saying it for him. Steve Kates only cares about himself and his well being. |

wow lady, your messed up in the head if you think steve is a good person. yeah, he cared a lot about the animals, and the people who came and saw them. Thats why he put the dead reptile corpses in the same room with the reptile food, and the food for the childrens parties. Actaully he kept it in the same refrigerator. |

jealousy, envy, and people (trols, like Lori Greene) with no lives of their own, who cant support themselves and who have done nothing for society except burden it with their existence, are the ones you will hear from criticizing the efforts of a good natured charitible person like steve kates, who has used his own assets and income to not only help needy animals but needy children who are sick and have not much hope for a future. The humanoids that conspire and consort with haters are a miserable sort of malcontents , whom which their brethern , the likes of Adolf Hitler, Stalin and Osama Bin Laden belong. These are the nastiness that make humans not really human, but barbaric . I filed a police report last week. Oct 27, 2004. It directly initiated the $140,000.00 fine and shut down of the L.I. Reptile Museum. If it comes down to placing homes for these animals. Help will be needed. |

steve kates is a nasty gorila looken dirtbag, he was once a poor dirt bag but now after being a somewht wealthy dirtbag is back to having limited funds and in forclosure on his over extended 3.1 million dollarhome at 11 birch lane in woodbury. his two ugly girls that think they are hot but they are more stinky than the nasty dieing lizards that he has at his li reptile museum.he is involved in multiple illegal ventures , such as importing kowala bears for weathy buyers and an occasional panda bear! he has a larg inventory of illegal allagators and various other animals that do not belong incaptivity for profit. his reptile museum is used for laundering such activitys.he was also under investigation for a aprent atempt to "take out "elliot swartz a tenant that would not leave in one of his rent controled apartment buildings.as the spca and irs are survailling him constantly. it wont last much longer as he has made to many mistakes and his final days are near. i hope that they close down that museum so that those poor animals can at least have a chance. |

I have been to the long island repile museum and find the animals to be healthy, kept well and have ample food and water. I understand they are taken care of by a veterianiarn group of which are SPCA investigators. |
