In early December a five-year-old female shepherd-lab mix was discovered - still alive - in the midst of the garbage in a garbage truck as it was being emptied into the Edgeboro landfill in East Brunswick.

Melissa I think that is very mean and if someone was to kill there own dog they should at least make some kind of ceremony. 11/21/2007

daniel good yall should stop 10/16/2006
Laura D I think that veterinarian needs to say "So Long" to his career. Any Vet who would do such a cruel and discusting thing, should not have the privilege of working with animals. 6/1/2006

Barry TAKE HIS PRIVELEGES AWAY AND SEND HIM TO WORK AT MCDONALD'S IF HE WANTS TO THROW MEAT IN THE DUMPSTER! 12/10/2005
Aubrey This is an amazing story, and working at The Second Chance Humane Society, it really moved me. I really believe that people need to keep a better eye on their animals and do everything in their power to help them. It is cruel, unkind, and extremely unprofessional to not even check an animal for a heartbeat after euthanization. I am agains the fact already, and to do it wrong is terrible. 11/7/2005
Nicole That must of been very scary for that poor dog. I love animals and any harm to any animal makes me very sad, and when it is a human that does the hurting i am very very angry and would hunt them down. I think all animals should have loving homes. Paul is needs to be thrown into a garbage can and left there. I mean how many animals did he euthanize that was really still alive? The dog is very lucky and was not ment to leave this world intill she is very old. My best wishes to the dog. Hope she finds a loving, warm home. 10/13/2005
Unknown Why can't the shelter just cremate the animals instead of throwing them in a dumpster? Cremation is much better. 10/11/2005
Neola I sit here right now reading this....in 45 minutes, I am leaving my house to take my dog to the vet and have her euthanised. She is 15 and a 1/2 years old. She has pyometra (a uterine infection that can be fatal) and unfortunately at her age, treatment is not an option. I am terrified that this will happen to her. I'm so afraid of it not working and her waking up! I will have nightmares about this, I know I will. If this vet followed procedure....then why didn't it work? Why did that poor dog wake up? How many times has this happened without anyone realising? It raises so many questions..... 4/18/2005
Marc Laddaga I really need the nj legislature to rethink our laws pertaining to animal abuse and the handling of unwanted or homeless animals. I am ashamed to live in a country where we do not see that animals are living, breathing, and feeling creatures and deserve the same amount of compassion and protection (maybe more) that we extend to our fellow man. Doesn't Animal Rights mean just that. 2/1/2005
Tom If this guy was in my state, I would hunt him down and throw HIM in a dumpster! 6/9/2004
Bob I think Paul is the biggest idiot on the face of this planet! HE deserves to be euthanized! 5/11/2004
MICHELLE W I THINK IT SUCKS, BLUNTLY SPEAKING, THEY SHOULD MONITOR FOR AT LEAST 8 OR MORE HOURS TO BE POSITIVE. 3/31/2004
together I think New Jersey sucks! And Paul needs to do his job right! How inhumane to just throw the poor dog into a trash can after it had already been through enough! New Jersey should be ashamed!!!! 3/27/2004
