Patricia Bluhm Re Mr Carter's comment on Charlie Rose a week ago re "depression." After listening to G. Bush's wild comments for six months, I decided that someone was probably going to shoot him. The more he talked about war and Iraq the more concerned I got. I not only got concerned, I ended up in the hospital in Nov 02 with an ulcer and depression. I certainly know how Mr Graydon felt. 10/19/2004
Mary E. Murray Vanity Fair is not a publication that I currently subscribe to, however, I may now. Mr. Carter apparently is a very inteligent indivitual. Anyone that cannot see the deceit, ignorance, vengeance, and plain old ordinary bully attitude in George Bush must have blinders on. And his followers are bullies too. It takes courage to commit to your values publicly in this political arena. G.W. is definately someone that we need to throw back to the corporate world. Unless, his "daddy" bails him out again, I doubt that we will hear from him or members of his administration better know as the "family of organized crime". Thank you for the venue for me to vent my opinion. 10/14/2004
Carl Vidal Instead of a gasoline tax there should be a registration fee yearly of $100 each mile under thirty on all new cars, collected by the state and forwarded to the federal government 10/4/2004
Carl Vidal the flow of money should be the basis for the tax structure .example - a 2%tax raise on social security tax provided that tax is assessed on the total wages including options and other types of compensation. the money should be used for national health insurance. another sugestion is instead of a taax on gasoline it should be a registration fee of

The flow of money should be the basis for the tax structure. A national health insurance could be paid by a 2% raise in the Social Security tax and all tax should be asessedon total wages including options and other compensations.

Ariana Evans There is so much that never reaches the eyes and ears of the people of this nation! How is it that the man who rode the coat-tails of Reaganomics to prestidential glory yet defamed the office with his unwise choices and infidelity can be touted as a great President, yet the man who answered the call of the people of these United States to stand up and do something when our borders were attacked is being daily slammed in the media? Where is the support that our nation should have for this man? I read an editorial by a journalist from outside our borders who said the thing that was so special, so intangible, and yet so powerful was this nations ability to pull together to accomplish something. That something was and is our freedom. Perhaps Carter has the power to make or break celebs, but there is something about Bush that no man with his popularity contests can crush. 1/12/2004
