Christ's Birth, Death and Resurrection

Does Christendom really NOT know when Jesus was born? Then, how is it they know how old He was when He died?

Bous We celebrate christmas everyday- acknowleging God's complete salvation plan - his birth, death and resurrection. Its not the date or day that matters. THE MESSAGE OF SALVATION is the reason of my celebration.NOT yesterday,25th,today or the next decade. 8/22/2009
Anonymous As I read this, my reaction, which continued all through it, was--but, so what? What does it matter WHEN we Christians celebrate the significant episodes in the life of Christ? Whether we use the Gregorian, Julian, or Hebrew calendar to commemorate the events of His life, the importance of those events cannot in any way be diminished. I should also wish to remind you that selective quoting of scriptural passages does not bolster the argument. In addition, there are several errors in your description of the time of temptation in the desert. Christ was not driven into the desert by the Evil One, but, by the Holy Spirit. He was not tempted for 40 days--he Fasted for 40 days. He was then tempted by the Evil One who also quoted scripture selectively. And what is significant there is NOT the period of time of temptation, but, rather, the nature of such temptation, and what the Evil One hoped to accomplish with such activity. What he certainly hoped to do was to separate Christ from His Father, and, from us. And when we nitpick over such trivial matters as when we commemorate the events of Christ's life, the Evil One then succeeds in his design. He separates us from each other We mustn't allow him to get away with it. 9/17/2006
curious The page I read was very enlighting. A lot of questions I needed answered were playing around in my head for a period of time. Plus I have a natural curiosity about life before, during, and after. 4/30/2006
UnicornHaven You must not have read the article. Every theologian in the world knows Christ was born sometime in October: which the Bible validates. Christmas is a pagan festival to their sun god, as is Easter. 1/26/2004
Chris Land Christ was born on Christmas; he didn't die, He gave up His spirit; and of course, He arose on the third day, defeating death and paying the price for all of our sins. I have accepted Him into my life and I hope you do to so I'll see you in the next life; Eternity. 1/13/2004
