Your article does not truly give exercises for those in the senior category. Getting onto the floor is a challenge, getting up is an even greater one. Surely you have some suggestions for abdominal exercises that don't require this particular position. |

Wtf? I've been doing these stupid abs exercises that's in the article for two weeks or three now, and my stomach is getting BIGGER!!!! What the hell? I don't even eat as much as I do anymore. Wtf. Does it really get bigger and THEN become small? Cause if it doesnt, then the abs worrkout you gave is bull. |

Congrats deb!, Success stories are allways a moral booster for people, it say's that it can be done. Now i dont want to come off sounding mean but after reading alot of these posts people arent pushing themselves hard enough, 20 to 30 min of cycling two to three times a week is hardly enough. walking that amount of time is NOT going to give you the results you desire either . I am 5' 11" i weigh 158 pounds, I eat whatever whenever and however much i want. and dont worry about my weight. 16 months ago my weight was 298lbs!!. I took no drugs and didnt change my eating habbits untill my body demanded. And i spent a total of 400 dollars if that. My secret? i dragged my fat butt down to garts sports and got a bench press (NOT A MACHINE!) with the leg extension and the curl bar and extension it came with 300lbs of free weights, that wasnt enough when i started squating so i had to get more. Then after being sick and tired of the way i looked and felt i busted my !@# every other day one and a half to two hours a day, high reps and low weights till exaustion untill conditoned then i moved up to higher weights lower reps. NOTHEING ELSE WILL GET YOU THIS PHYSICALLY FIT AND LOOKING BETTER FASTER THAN FREE WEIGHT LIFTEING, not running, cycleing, sit ups, tread mills, crunches, etc. And in four to five weeks you will see and feel drastic results in strenght ,composure ,and how you feel about yourself, Guaranteed , i promiss. At first i gaind a few pounds and started to worry but what i didnt know at that time is that extra weight was new muscle i was building and it was eating all the callories and fat in my body and i was turning into a fat burning furnass . Anybody can do it at any age man or woman disabled or not, like nike says JUST DO IT!! BYE |

oh sorry - an addition to my post. I am 5'11 but about 230lbs. I went down from about 300 in a year. It's all slowly melting - but my tummy still sticks out as if I am very pregnant. And yes - I do stick to my diet/routine. |

I have had five children and 1 surgery for reflux disease (cut from sternum to belly button) and one for diseased gallbladder. I was underweight but fit/firm when I had my daughters. It has been 18 years and I am now divorced and trying to make more lifestyle changes. For 8 months I have been slowing changing my eating habits, and lost 2 1/2 sizes. I am walking daily, now for an hour. And I want to start at our apt. gym (slowly). It is possible for me to ever lose the extra tummy I now have - seriously, can it ever be flat again? Can I ever have the fitness level back I had before? Thank you. |

You people need to be honest with yourself. If you gave a program 3 to 4 months then you will of seen results. Chances are you took days off here and there, stopped running when you got a little tired, or didn't keep up with a proper nutritional program. That means eating healthy for all 3 months! No beer on the weekend either, that will kill all your hard work you put in all week. Good luck and keep trying. |

I have been loosing weight and doing pretty good. I was never really over weight a lot. but I have lost 25 pounds and I would like to loose 10 more. I'm interested in what you have to say, but my question to you is, I do exercie, I do the ab crunches, I ride a bike 2 - 3 times a week for 20 - 30 minutes, and I do walk 2 - 3 times, and my stomach is like stretched dough..I am embarrassed, totally to wear anything that reveals my stomach. It's like you can grab it and it stretches like an elastic. Will this go away with exercising, how long will it take, because I am truly a mess and not liking it and I have been told that exercising will not take care of this, and my only solution is a tummy tuck, which, I don't think so, too scared and can't afford it. Please let me know what I am suppose to do. |
