Jordin Tootoo -- A very special hockey player

He's only 20 years old and has probobly travelled to more places in the United States and Canada than any other youngster in his town. But that's nothing strange for a young man who grew up near the Artic Circle, very proud of his Inuit roots.

megan i thinks jordin tootoo is an inspiration to a lot of first nations kids all over north america. its not very often you see that aboriginal people have followed their dreams and succeeded, and its great that jordin is sharing his story. it sends the message the younger generations, "to follow you dreams, and you can make if you really try." and jordin is a great role model.
his strength as a person and a hockey player has inspired me. i am also first nations and i live in a small town, and i have big dreams too.

Karen Boucher I just wanted to mention that I was one of the fans who jumped on the backseat of a greyhound bus for 41 hours to witness Aboriginal history in the making for the game opener. You are very true to the word when you state that Jordin is a very special hockey player. We are from Manitoba, Canada and I cannot begin to describe the pride that the Aboriginal youth have for Jordin. He is a true celebrity here not only for his hockey skills, but that his fans are foremost in the thoughts as he accomplishes his dream of playing in the NHL. Our kids dream through him and he gives us hope for our future. We all know that education is the key to success and with Jordin helping to promote that, the kids take it to heart. Thank you for the great article on Jordin. Indeed he is a special person and have lots to offer.
