Pat Mullen, CAB Recently had confrontation with ABTA regarding their members liability for delayed baggage under the Package Travel Regulations. Their member Thomas Cook) denied liability saying that they were not liable for loss of enjoyment , clearly in breach of community law and the Regulations.

The Office of Fair Trading and the European Commission have been notified and hopefully the law will be clarified for British consumers.

lina When I paid the price
of a service I expect
the service to be
provided. Over booking
is greed AND NOT looking
at the need of the customer. The travel
maybe necessary (OR essnitial) the persons
travail is hard enough
without getting bumped.
If an airline cannot secure a seat
in advance then first
comes with the cash gets
the seat....At least the public would know what it is dealing with.
I DO NOT WANT A FREE MEAL I WANT TO FEEL SECURE THAT I WILL GET
ON THE PLANE (I PAID FOR IN ADVANCE) AND NOT BE BUMPED!!!!
