Teri My ex-husband has stage 4 throat cancer. he also had a cancerous tumor removed from his colon. It was large enough to block bowel movements. There was a nonule detected in his lungs that has shrinked enough that it is no longer detectable. his lungs have collapsed & has been in the hospital many times in the last few years. His fever spikes and when it reaches a certain degree he is re-admitted to the hospital. he is 63 years old.
His wife, son & mother are all trying to keep him positive. he is on Chemo, Radiation & any number of drugs including THC in pill form for the nausea. he is home for the first time in months & sleeps most of the time, most likely due to the THC pills.
i only found out about his struggle 6 to 8 months ago.
Can you give me an honest prognosis?
I need to save for a plane ticket for his funeral, but I'd like to know how much time I have to 'say goodbye' without actually saying goodbye.
I want to see him before he succumbs to this illness. I will be at his funeral because we have a beautiful son together & a beautiful granddaughter. Our son says he looks like a Holocaust victim.
Can you offer me any hope?
I need honest answers.

Thnk you

Rema My dad had cancer of the throat stage 4 & after a whole year of chemotherapy & radiation plus many infections with countless hospitalisations.
A year on he is in remission but with severe radiation side effects he is still unable to swallow and being fed with a PEG tube...But everyday is a blessing he is still with us.
