New NY Law: Outdoor Dogs Must Have Adequate Shelter

Reports of dogs left outdoors without adequate shelter, dogs frozen to death in extreme winter temperatures, dogs suffering from dehydration or heatstroke in the scorching heat of summer - are the most frequent complaints received by humane societies and cruelty investigators all across New York State.

ybbob If people can not take care of their animals cats and dogs then they should not have them!!!!! They should get a heavy heavy heavy fine. 1/26/2005
heather havens what is considered proper shelter? there is a dog in my neighborhood that is an "outside dog" ??? and the temperature last night was -7. i think the only "proper" shelter would be indoors... please direct me to where i can get some help for this dog. 1/23/2005
