Stress, Anxiety, And Strong Black Women

Whether it is discrimination, prejudice, or another stressor, Black women appear to handle stress somewhat differently from men or white women. Men are more likely to do battle with whoever or whatever is causing stress, or they simply remove themselves from the situation.

Brenda I have the concept of the strong black woman.. we are like any other human being often unable to cope with stress. They myth they we are strong means we are often overburdened we need support nuturing and help like any other female yet because of this stupid if not racist myth that some of us foolishly accept we suffer in silence. 1/3/2006
