forgot I agree this is one of the vicious sport rivalries out there. Not much else compares especially in baseball. THe Dodgers and gaints come no where close. I think it is because the yankees and red sox play each in the playoffs. 10/5/2005
jared a* real* sox fan, when was the last time the sox won a world series, That course 5/5/2004

Anoymous Come on. The Yankees/Red Sox rivalry is the best in baseball. You got Ted Williams/Joe DiMaggio battle in the 1940s, Bucky Dent's shot over the Green Monster, two storied baseball cities with two major storylines: an owner, George Steinbrenner, that can't accept losing and another team that can't win.

Also, this rivalry is also a game of one-upmanship like the Yankees snatching Jose Contreras or the Red Sox acquiring Curt Schilling and these two teams try to counter.

You also got Carlton Fisk vs. Thurman Munson, Pedro Martinez vs. the Rocket Roger Clemens, many more.

And don't forget baseball fans: how many times does major rivalries like the Giants/Dodgers or Cubs/Cardinals play each other in the playoffs? None.

The Yankees/Red Sox play each other twice in the postseason.

Even Game 7 of the 2003 ALCS was the best baseball game ever.

Bottom Line: Yankees v. Red Sox, baseball's greatest rivalry. CASE CLOSED!

this is clearly written by a Yankees fan and one sided. If your going to say something is from both views, make it from both views. 10/22/2003
Confused fan Dodgers or Yankees...I grew up in L.A. and have been a fan of the Dodgers. However, after living in New York for a couple years growing up and now been living in NYC for three years I have been going to Yankees games and cheering for the Yanks. I'm becoming sort of a confused fan. If the Yankees ever played the Dodgers, I would be all Dodger blue. Is it possible to root for two teams that were rivals in the past? I hate the San Francisco Giants because that's what I grew up with. I love baseball and being in NYC I have to root for someone, right? Let me know your comments 10/19/2003
1918 THE YANKEES WIN! They did so tonight, and they do so in general. That's what seperates them from the Red Sox. And if you say it is due to their massive payroll, i would ask you to check out the Red Sox' payroll--not exactly small. So frustrated fans in Boston can't(in good conscience)play that ever-used excuse to sooth their wounded egos. And, by the way, it was Aaron Boone that slammed the coffin on the Sox--Arron(inject explitive)Boone! HOW SWEET IT IS! Here's to the best second place baseball team in history--the Boston Red Sox. 10/17/2003
A"REAL" SOX FAN RED SOX IN GAME SEVEN 3 TO 0 IN THE TOP OF THE 3RD! LET'S GO SOX!
BY THE WAY, WHAT CURSE?

Mick I have hated the Yankees ever since Lou Pinella barreled into Carlton Fisk and a brawl started and someone spike Bill Lee's arm. I do like Roger Clemen's ever since He pitched the 1986 World Series and he whined about the pitching mound being too soft for him. But yet the next night Bruce Hurst went on the mound and didn't complain and went on to win. I do think that Joe Torre is the Best Manager in baseball and could manage anywhere in the major league. I thought he was a very good player as well.

As I say "Anyone but the Yankees"

OrangemenChamps This article starts off very well, then goes nowhere. It seems typical that it was writen by a Yankees fan. 10/14/2003
YANKEES SUCK 10/13/2003
Wst Cst Sox Fan You're trippin', don't you watch the news? A Giants fan down in LA for a Giants/Dodgers game shot a Dodgers fan in the Parking lot after the game... and killed him! If you don't call that meanness, "you'z" guys out there on the east coast must be suicide bombing each other by now. 10/8/2003
Shane The Yankees quite possibly the most disgusting amount of money use ever this team is bought they may be good but i hate them because they didnt work to get wat they want and the RED SOX are winning it all this year 10/7/2003
