Most moving van companies will tell you summer and early fall are their busiest months. Unfortunately, most animal shelters will tell you the same thing.

Natasha I think that people should try to take a chance to see if they could get along with the dogs that need homes and I am happy that the adoption centers help the animals. I also think that some adoption centers shouldn't put the animals down if they don't get adopted,so the animals get a second chance to live freely with a owner. Connie It would be very helpful to have volunteers that speak with the people who are turning their pets into the CACC. Perhaps they can be aided with any problems that they may be having that are causing them to give up their pets such as spaying, training tips, any pertinent infor. They could also be directed to pure breed rescue leagues that take their breed for placement so that the animals don't have to go thru the trama of entering a shelter. Perhaps they don't know fair housing laws that allow some people to keep pets under certain circumstances. Advice and help are sometimes all that is needed to allow owners to keep their pets.
