Guilty Verdict in South Africa Elephant Abuse Case

South African elephant trainer Riccardo Ghiazza and his former employee Wayne Stockigit were recently found guilty of animal cruelty from footage released almost 5 years ago depicting the abuse of 30 juvenile elephants.

Jessica I think that the animals need to be let out into freedom. It is animal cruelty to abuse them. People who do that need to wisen up because that is illegal. They will eventually get caught. We [the government] need to do more to stop abuse to any animal that is in the circus. It is mean and stupid. 2/1/2006
