Curing and Healing Narcissism

Narcissism constitutes the entire personality. It is all-pervasive. Being a narcissist is akin to being an alcoholic but much more so.

Robert This is my first attempt to REALLY deal with my NPD after my 4th long-term relationship breakup in 10 years .

I'm not sure at the moment if I care about Sam's qualifications, but I certainly tick the boxes on many of his assessments of NPD - it certainly feels like he knows what is happening in my head.

hymenoptera I don't understand where Sam Vaknin gets all of his "expertise" on NPD. He's got a Ph.D in physics and worked in finance and with computers. Perhaps there is something I am missing? Did he secretly get a Ph.D. in psychology or work as a part time counselor? The internet is flooded with his commentary on Narcissism and he speaks of it as if he were an expert. I'm not saying he isn't (though I'm inclined to think so), but his commentary is very opinionated for someone who doesn't have any psych or social science background on his CV (except for writing about PDs). It sounds more like he had a bad experience and this is his way of venting. 6/19/2008
Shelley Would it be safe for me to email this to my boyfriend or should I wait until he moves out? He has all the traits and I don't know how he might react but he needs to know that he shouldn't stop theropy which he has. Is he capable of hitting someone. So far he is only verbally abusive 8/4/2006
