Hi I am both sickend and saddened. My best friend called me Tuesday and stated that her husband just got through," shoving her and choking her". Then asked me if she could come to my home for a safe haven without hesitation I said yes. She stayed for almost 24 hours we talked , I tried to help her by telling her that she needed to contact the police, Aid to Victims of Violence. I thought that she wanted help, but she did not do any of the things that I suggested, I even offered to do it for her, but "she" did not want him to go to JAIL which is exactly where HE belonged. She ended up calling her parents and going there to stay which is not a good place either as her father molested her and still does in different ways. I pleaded for her to go to a safe house where she could get the proper counciling. Where I know from experience will help her work on her low self esteem issues and how to be able to start the change that she wants to see in her world. Well I got a call from her and she decided to go back to HIM. I told her that I was afraid for her, but she said that he was "Sorry" and that they would talk. I forgot HE is an Alcolhic. I also know from experience that unless "HE" qutis drinking. The abuse will never stop and I told her that I was afraid that some day that I was afraid that I was going to hear about "Man in Munnsville , New York , Kills Wife, while watching the Local News. I am at wits end as I know that as a student taking Human Services that I have to report this matter to the local State Police. I don't know her address as they have just recently bought a house and for some reason she will not give me her home phone number. I just called her Parents and they will not give me a phone number or the address. I told her father that if anything happenens to her that the family will be liable also. The father TELLS me not to get into the middle of it HELLO
I am going to do it any ways. I know why he will not do nothing, as he does not want to be found out. I may loose a friend but atleast she will be alive. I starded college because of this person as I feel that there are so many men and women that are abused dialy and Killed and the child abuse and senseless deaths there also. I think that the Justice System has let the Victims down as they sentence the person then later let them out early for good behavior. Before their last victim has even had the chance to begin to Heal. Domestic Violence and Child Abuse is a Circle and WE have to be the ones that breaks that Circle. |
