Melissa This is pure nonsense! I am sorry to burst everyone's Bubbles, but Billy the Kid is my Cousin by Marriage, and I have Legal Proof, in Photograph,that I can Prove beyond doubts that Billy is exactly where we buried him over 120 years ago.
Billy is NOT, Never has been, and Never will be Brushy, John Miller, or any others, but himself - ALONE!
Billy was Killed by Pat F. Garrett in Ft. Sumner, NM., July 14, 1881.
Not only this, but I also have copies of Billy's Birth Record, including Parentage and Siblings.
So, Billy is soon to be a Mystery no more.
All this Legend Crap will soon come to a screeching halt!

Stuart Falcon I think that Pat Garrett didn't shot Billy the Kid but instead shot a man from inside a house at a parthat was going on outside the house in New Mexico and that Pat Garrett said that was Billy the KId he he shot while covering up for William H. Booney as(Billy the Kid)escaped. Then in November 29, 1950 Billy the Kid or at that time knows as Brushy Bill went to talk with the recent govenor of New Mexico. After that he went on to Hico, Texas and died there on December 26 1950 at the age of 90.

Jim Graves It would seem to me that there must be some definite assurance that the body to be exhumed for comparison purposes to the kid is indeed his mothers. If there is no match with Brushy Bill, the people who have a vested interest in that theory will be the first to assert that the body compared with his was not the mother of the kid. Also most legitimate historians are of the opinion that the kid was killed in New Mexico, and the perpetuation of the stories concerning Brushy Bill are kept alive by those who like to see tourists come to Hico to see his "museum" and spend dollars in their little town. I was alive when Brushy Bill was alive, and there was little belief in his tall tales and claims then (in spite of what people there say now). 7/8/2003
