Larry Legend vs. Air Jordan
Michael Jordan is the greatest athlete to have ever picked up a basketball. Yet, there are many Boston fans who claim that Larry Bird is a better athlete than Jordan. Who's right? Here's an opinion.

While Michael Jordan is probably the most popular basketball player of all-time, that does not make him greatest. He probably had the best jump, he had great speed, along with his great dunks. However, Larry had the long shots, better passing, and always made the crowd wild. As they both played different positions, its hard to compare. Yes, Jordan was faster and had a better dunk, but Larry had the better shot. It is not fair to say Larry doesnt even compare to Jordan, because I would say theyre neck-and-neck. |

I would have to respectfully disagree with the idea that Larry Bird is the Greatest player of all time. MJ has better defense and offense then Bird. Michael also won more champion ships with less talent. Look at the all-star players the Celtics had: Dennis Johnson, Robert Parish, Kevin Mchale, Danny Ainge, Bill Walton. And on top of that Larry Bird? Who couldn't win with them? Who did Michael have? Scottie Pippen ... Later Dennis Rodman. Michael did more with less. As far as talent goes, Larry Bird was a very good fundamental player, while MJ already had those skills down, and instead, expanded upon them with his athleticism. |

I Love Larry Bird and think he is one of the greatest. Unfortunately he got injured, his last 2 seasons were not superstar status from 1980-1988 there was no one better but that is 9 seasons, as much as I hate to admit this Jordan was still at the top of his game at 36 in 1998. Longevity is a factor in the equation. |

u can dunk all u want...but a 3 is worth more than a 2...and if u put some tight "D" on MJ...it won't be as easy 2 get the 3 points like Larry...I would give the game 2 Larry Birdman |
