The black woman - with white parents
Long before science learned to meddle with genes, there was Sandra Laing. She entered the world in 1955, a beautiful baby by all accounts, who could be expected to grow up in a close-knit family amid mines of gold and forests of pine.

While surfing the internet for a for school paper, I stumbled upon this book. I can't imagine the pain, suffering and oppression Sandra encountered. How sad she never saw her father before he passed and missed out on some many years with her mother. When I think of Sandra, my blues can't compare to hers. I won't complain! |

Ok we all have been created from God or whoever you call your god, I ask the question if your child came out white or black would you not love them, are you trying to prove something to your friends and if they really where your friends they would love you and your children. We waste our time on things that really doesn't matter. Why is it so important what color you are, if you notice certain people use color to try and get a head in life maybe that is the course they where sent to earth to achieve, my grandmother is black foot indian, her father's father was Irish, but my grandmother husband was a black man, I was raised to believe that whatever course you choose for your life it will all come together in the end. I believe God created certain things to allow man to see that he is the one that has control over who will look like what, but whatever suite I put on you; will you make a difference with the color you are given. |

Everyone want to deny that we all have the same Gene code if you are a scholar check out your history with Adam and Eve then study your history with Noah and his children where the heck do you think we all came from, one more thhing we all came from the creator and in the end we will see that we are all just spirit with a suite on which we call the body if you where born in Europe your skin tone is one way but if you where born in Africa or Egypt your skin is of a darker color, but i ask what the heck does it matter are you try to make this world a better place or be right about your theory. Just shut up and live and hope that when you die you return back to your creator as spirit. |

This is a hard story to read. It hurts. This woman is scientifically a throwback gene case...so for the person who said "mommy's baby, daddy's maybe" this is just not the truth. Sandra Laing is a special person who was brought out by God to teach people that ultimately ALL people are to bre treated with respect. Her parents were white Afrikaans who thought they were above the Black and Coloured. However, I think that time taught them to love everyone. I think that everyone needs to remember that humanity actually began in Africa. |

that hurts to read. Its funny beccause her parents couldnt be white if they had a black ancestor from slave times/ I know how it is with class somewhat im from a family of nigerians intermixed with british white. Im a desecnted of such liasions my grandmother was so close to white people wondered if she was she was coulured and about i think 25% white just lightskinned and light eyed and straight haired. I think genes are funny. I thought someone told me that couldnt not happend when jeans from someone way back shows up in kids in the present but i guess i was wrong. I think its sad that even though they realized they had a black ancestor they were still rasecists to other blacks and people sad sad tale. but the hole world has a long way to go with race. If the book ever comes out im going to read it. |
