Radio station to give American liberals a voice

A liberal radio network in the United States that would challenge the current supremacy of conservative talkshow hosts could be on air by the autumn. The plan has been prompted by the success of the Republicans in last November's mid-term elections and a feeling that the national agenda has shifted to the right.

Scott Frank Lynn, wake up! When you talk about bi-partisanship, you're talking about a kind of politics that died back when Newt Grincrich came to power. Paul Krugman was right when he said last week that it's time for Dems to cleave to their party; that is, play by the rules the Republicans set. The Democrats who voted for Lamont saw a man for their party, not a self-promoter, like Lieberman, who, from his speech chastizing Clinton to his refusal to withdraw from the Senate race, has shown himself to be a man alone, not one for his party. It's time for fierce loyalty, which is the only way to regain power. My question to you is this: Do we cleave to the dead old ways or do what it takes to get back in power? Why not play by the existing rules and finally have a chance to put this country back on track? Then we can shift the discussion to a more civilized tone. Republican declared war on the Democrats years ago. It's time for us to stand up and fight back. 8/9/2006
Em. T. I believe that the mainstream media does have a right winged bias, and this needs to change. Bush and his administration have done things which, were the media doing it's job, would have resulted in impeachment.

We need news from both sides of the political spectrum, not corporate owned stations who have a vested interest in keeping the country at war, and a far right administration in place.

Marlene Carr What liberal radio lacks is a quality talk show host. May I suggest you listen to the Lynne Cullen show that airs each weekday from 10am to 1pm on 1360 WPPT in the Pittsburgh, Pa market. She has recently been featured on Cspan and has won numerous awards. This is the type of host that us liberals want and need to hear on the radio. I do not want to hear Al Franken or Michael Moore.
Please take the time to listen one time to the Cullen show and you will hear what America is missing. As a small business owner and spending so much of my time in my car listening to the radio,,, please give those of us on the left some choices to listen to!
Thank you,

Terry I was thrilled when told there would finally be a liberal radio station. I am very very disappointed in what I have heard so far. Al Franken is good but those 2 women in the AM do more harm than good as does the loud rude course speaking Randi Rhodes 4/23/2004
Pissed At Press I've been looking for the call letter's of stations carrying Al Franken. I'm well read, informed and can find NOTHING - I'm in New York City.

One would think that this would be reasonably easy information to come by. Even in the New York Times Article I saw yesterday they only mentioned the local staion which carries rush limbaugh!!!!

One would also think that after the HORRIBLE job of fair coverage of political issues in this country the press would be working harder to redeem itself of (justified) charges of pandering to the current regime!!!
