Swiss to stop entry of 'mercy death' Britons

At least a dozen terminally ill British patients are expected to fly to a controversial clinic in Zurich in the coming months to be helped to commit suicide there. The Swiss authorities, alarmed at the growth of 'suicide tourism', are considering making it illegal for foreigners to fly to their country to die.

Kami My mother is 72 yrs. old , She worked hard all her life, raised 3 children,her husband died 16 yrs. ago. since then,
she has had several operations , today she is barely able to stand, let alone walk, cook, or do anything for herself without the help of a wheelchair, she is so frustated! She would like to die with some dignaty, not be taken to the hospital to die, and God forbid taken to a care home . she always told me that she would rather die at home without pain, WITHOUT PAIN ! and with the people she loves, I think its almost a crime that people who still have their mind are denied the choice of life , my God, my mother believes in God and heaven, but she also believes she has the right to choose when her time to die is .And at her age believes no one should tell her what to do now, And it's sickening to think that some people would rather watch a person be taken to a care home and suffer in pain .
To live or die should be a personal choice .

The government is complaing about the cost of keeping the elderly alive , maybe the government should ask what the person wants. aren't we suppose to a democratic government?		 7/25/2004
Chris Is it better that I commit suicide, possibly with a lot of pain and suffering, in the flat where I live alone, lay stinking until someone has the uncomfortable task of finding me. Why not let people die with dignity whether they are ill or not. 3/6/2003
