Dear Sirs, Concerning your article 'Holiday Rapes Increase on Greek Islands', you are not mentioning who is raping who. The location mentioning , Kavos, Faliraki and Malia are destination where British holidaymakers spend there summer and consume an amount of alcohol that they are able to rape themselves. Please, before acusing others and before trying with your best to hide yourself behind your fingers, EDUCATE your poeple who are PROUDLY drunk and where your social life and your society is BASED on a GLASS of Beer. So stop accusing others, first see your drunk society. Most raped women in Holiday station by British SURPRISINGLY are made by British man to British and Local women. Shame on you, YOU DRUNK SOCIETY and CULTURE> |

I have just come back off holiday with my 2 children in Kefalonia& was seriously sexualy assaulted by the manager of the hotel& a 19 yr old girl also by the same man. He let himself into our rooms with the keys and allowed other men into her room too.Going to the police was a traumatic experience on top of what Id already been through making me stay with them for 14 hours going through hell. The man was allowed in and out of the room whilst we were being interviewed and they wouldnt let me go and get my children from the hotel so they were left to fend for themselves at 10& 14 yrs old.I was intimidated by the owner of the hotel who had his friends with my children leaving me in fear for my childrens safety.I dropped the allegations due to the owner whom knew the police, intimidating me into silence. This was a holiday from hell and as a single parent, I clearly was not on holiday for sex or anything relating to sex. The British embassy in Athens was terrible in the way they handled it all leaving me isolated and alone in a country I was desperate to get out of due to what happened. My advice to women even with children is,,, do NOT go out to these islands unless you have friends with you to support you or a partner. Any young girls should not go out to these islands alone either. As for the holiday companies that promote such appauling behaviour as seen on the TV programmes, they should be heavily fined, thier status taken away from them and any company promoting such dreadful behaviour should be named and shamed. ABTA should also take this seriously. Companies like club 18- 30 should be taken off as a holiday company and promoted as pimps, brothels or anything that is considered illegal in this country because they promote the behaviour which puts others at risk. |

Well, aside from the fact the English are considered the stingiest tourists in the world, comes this revelation. Great PR for your island nation. |
